Committee members visited the field on the 18th of July to confirm what everybody expected - the recent long hot spell has left the ground iron hard without the benefit of a cushion of grass to help. Additionally, large cracks add another hazard for running dogs. Whilst it is frustrating to cancel another meeting - the third this year - there was no avoiding the decision. The next meeting is August 12th. There will need to be significant rainfall between now and then to return the field to a useable state but, who knows, this is the UK after all!
